Meet Triaxes at IBC 2013

Triaxes Vision, Sisvel Technology and partners present a playout solution for the 3DZ Tile format – a truly universal video format for 3D Auto-stereo, Stereo and HD.

AMSTERDAM, September 13-17, 2013 – At Sisvel Technology’s booth 5.B37 at the IBC2013 show, visitors will find vivid demonstration of different display technologies – glasses-free 3D displays, 3D displays and 2D displays – with the one universal video source – 3DZ Tile video format.

The 3DZ Tile Format technology, developed by Sisvel Technology and Triaxes Vision, which specializes in software and hardware solutions for auto- stereoscopic displays, simplifies and improves glasses-free 3D TV and may also be the key technology that reduces 3D TV costs. Triaxes has added Z (Depth) information into the Sisvel Technology 3D Tile format, leading to the creation of 3DZ Tile, the first universal display-independent format, which can provide users with proper video playback regardless of the type of displays (common 2D, glasses 3D and glasses-free 3D). Creating a Depth Map at the broadcaster’s premises facilitates the synthesis of intermediate views for autostereoscopic displays, successfully offloading on broadcasting systems the computation normally present in the TV.
Demonstration at the exhibition booth will consist of all the broadcasting chain parts, starting from capturing 3D video using stereo-camera, calculating the depth information in real time, constructing 3DZ Tile frame, encoding the result with H.264 video encoder and finally stream the video to three kind of displays with 3DZ Tile format supporting – 2D display, 3D display with glasses and auto-stereoscopic (glasses-free) 3D display.
Visitors may also try Triaxes DepthGate, software for off-line (file-based) conversion from common 3D video formats into depth map and glasses-free video, compatible with most of today existing displays.
