Release notes
3D Live VUE 5.1.3 – December 2024
Version 5 of the program has received a new feature that allows users to generate depth maps using neural networks, which has made it possible to rethink the logic of operation in such a way that it is now possible to seamlessly integrate people into a virtual scene without the need for a green (chroma key) background. The program now has two methods for removing the background: a chroma key removal mode that has been retained, and a background removal mode based on the depth map that has been added.
This significant innovation eliminates the need for using a chromakey (green or blue screen) background during shooting and improves the quality of 3D effects, as well as making the workflow more convenient.
What’s New:
1. A function for generating a depth map using AI-based neural network techniques for photos and layers.
2. A function to remove the background from photos based on a depth map threshold.
Fixes:
– crashes that occurred when incorrect file paths or project locations were saved in the system registry.
– Facebook 3D format export.
Changes:
– Showed part of the activation code in the About window.
– Added a button to delete the depth map layer in the Properties panel and renamed buttons for opening the Layer Editing dialog to “Background”.
– Added an additional tab for the Depth Map settings.
– Move some of the options from the Live View tab to the Advanced tab and slightly changed the appearance of some other settings.
– Provided a choice of methods for generating the depth map.
– Made changes to the photo editor.
– Previewed the removal of the background layer with the Depth Threshold slider.
3D Live VUE 4.3.1 – March 2023
What’s new:
- rotation of layers in the project (new command in the layer context menu);
- units of measurement were changed (mm, inches) (can be set manually);
- disabling chromakey for the Live mode (Advanced tab);
- camera orientation selection (Main tab);
- export of a frame series (Export Frames button on the Lenticular tab);
Fixed:
- project display in the Live mode on the client’s display (now it’s cropped to the frame, the background image for the client’s screen is shown);
- the layer visibility parameter as well as the order of layers in the project after opening;
- visibility of two photos in the flip project type in the overlap mode;
- replacing a layer when inserting an image from the clipboard (Cntl+V or a command from the context menu of the layer).
3D Live VUE 4.1.1 – July 2022
What’s new:
- The function to copy and paste layers via the clipboard (Copy /Paste).
3D Live VUE 4.0.1 – June 2022
What’s new:
- Advanced layers window with image preview;
- Ability to add layers in the same size (at the size set for the previous added layer);
- Lasso tool in Chroma keying dialog
3D Live VUE 3.7 – November 2021
What’s new:
- ability to add psd, psdd files as a new layer;
- export/import of the .PSDD project type – this add compatibility with 3DMasterKit;
- saving an image or a layer depth map to a file (from the layer context menu);
- changing the layer name (from the layer context menu);
- possibility to select types of images to export via Save all… button (menu Tools-Settings-Save tab);
- ability to select the user interface theme: system, or dark grey (by default).
Changes:
- Optimized project file size.
In the new version you can read old project files and resave it in new project format (new file extension is .3dlv).
The file size is almost twice as small, and the opening has become faster.
3D Live VUE 3.5 – June 2021
What’s new:
- Automatically turn contour drawings into three-dimensional scenes.
- Save chromakey settings for Live mode.
Save the general settings of the whole project.
