3DMasterKit 10.2 – June 2020

Fixed bugs

  • Crashing in the “Layer to image size” function;
  • Crashing when generating frames based on the layers with automatically generated depth map;


3DMasterKit 10.1 – June 2020

What’s new:

  • “Layer to image size” function added to the context menu of the layer;
  • “Auto resize layer to image size” function added to the Settings dialog.
    These functions allow you to make editing of layers and depth maps in external editors more stable and predictable. This is especially important when working with an external Adobe Photoshop editor and depth maps that are larger than the layer size.

Changes

  • Automatic depth map scaling was removed. Previous versions of the program, when connecting to a depth map layer, reduced the depth map size to the layer size. This could lead to distortion of the depth map and difficult-to-detect errors;
  • Support for the depth map larger than the layer image was added. If an image and a depth map are loaded as layers in the project, the depth map can be connected to the layer based on their relative location.

Fixed bugs

  • .mp4 export error, if there were spaces in the path;
  • Legend: error with the lenticular encoding when mirroring was on;
  • Legend: error with the name of the encoded lenticular file.

3DMasterKit 10 – April 2020

What’s new:

  • New tool – Parallax measurer or Parallaxometer – allows you to accurately measure the parallax and predict 3D effect of the printed 3D image;
  • Extended number of processed frames for all software editions. For 3DMasterKit 10 Pro: max N=512, max Lenticular LPI=600, max Resolution 9600 PPI.
  • New ability to edit as layer’s image, as their depth maps in an external editor;
  • New ability to choose different color schemes of the user interface. The new dark theme of the interface allows you to focus on the image and reduce fatigue;
  • Toolbar icons can be enlarged. Now the software is compatible with high-definition displays;
  • The Pitch Test dialog can be opened without adding images to the project;
  • New image export format for the Looking Glass holographic displays;
  • New example and video tutorial on 2D-to-3D image conversion.
  • Drag’n’drop or double click to open .psdd files.

Enhancements:

  • Encoding has sped up by 25%;
  • Better encoding/saving of large-format images (more than 4 Gb);
  • Improved computational model used to apply depth maps to layers. 3D rendering results have become more predictable. That simplifies 2D-to-3D conversion.

Fixed:

  • A big list of bugs (more than 30) and drawbacks;
  • Reading of jpg files taken with new cameras;
  • Software crashes when opening the Pitch Test dialog.

3DMasterKit 9.2 – July 2018

What’s new:

  • ability to save series of frames as video in the MP4 format with a specified framerate and number of playback circles (Image export dialog was updated). You can use this feature to create “Wiggle 3D” photos for Facebook, etc.;
  • JPG, TIFF file support in the CMYK color model when importing/exporting frames;
  • the lenticular can be generated to a BigTIFF (.tif) file in the CMYK mode;
  • updated 3DMasterKit 9.2 and Legend 3.2. User Guides.

Fixed:

  • working with a .psdd layered template and transparency (ACMYK) in the CMYK color model;
  • interface bug of the Image export dialog;
  • CMYK generation in the demo mode: program crush or file missing;
  • PSD file opening problem in the saved project;
  • problem with Alignment marks saving (frame width) in the manual mode when changing the frame for the first time and closing the dialog.

What’s new:

      • Decimal values (3 figures) support for the print resolution (PPI) when the lenticular is generated: edit boxes are extended;
      • Decimal values support for the print resolution (PPI) when the pitch-test is generated;
      • File naming for exporting is updated.

Fixed:

      • Absent layers when generating frames out of a multilayer template;
      • Visual flaws when a depth map for layers is generated (when histogram correction is applied).

      • Automatic mode of frame number calculation, when a multi-view frame series is generated, allows to get a better 3D effect;

      • Pitch test dialog displays information on the size of the generated image;

3DMasterKit 7.0 – March 2013

What’s new:

      • Image encoding with the side sizes of more than 30000 pixels (the PSB format intended for big files is used);
      • Transparency support for the source frames is updated. The encoded image keeps its transparency so that it is compatible with the 64-bit operating system;
      • 3DMasterKit Pro allows to encode pat-by-part;
      • When adding frames to the project, the auto-alignment algorithm works much better;
      • 64-bit version is adapted for Windows 8.

Fixed:

      • Layer positioning when generating a multilayer stereo above the existing frames;
      • The layers list is scrolled up when adding a depth map;
      • Software hang-up when attempting to align one of the frames being loaded;
      • Crop Rect malfunctioning;
      • Anaglyph stereo generation when the crop rectangle contains non-overlapping areas.

 

3DMasterKit 6.0 – November 2011

What’s new:

      • internal algorithms are considerably redeveloped: lenticular encoding and interpolation algorithms are enhanced;
      • software structure is changed so that it is compatible with a 64-bit operating system;
      • the program now exists in 2 variations: for 32-bit and 64-bit systems.

New functionality:

      • auto-alignment of frames to the first image of the series;
      • saving images that were aligned and generated out of layers together with the project. All the images are saved into the folder with the project file.

What’s new:

      • Ability to quickly choose the preset values of the Crop Rect aspect ratio;

      • Export of a big amount of images (more than 25);
      • Layer transparency changing when brightness is adjusted with the help of the histogram;

 

3DMasterKit 3.7 – May 2009

What’s new:

      • Lenticular encoding algorithm is accelerated. Acceleration by 2-4 times on uni-processor computers and by N times on multi-processor machines (N= number of CPU);
      • Interface change: a button hiding all layers at once is added;
      • New function: save layers to a template. A template is saved to a .psd file + parallax settings. When opening and saving in Photoshop the data are preserved;
      • ICC profiles are preserved if they were present in the source .psd. This function is useful for professionals, especially those working with CMYK. If you set an icc profile for a certain printing device when designing an image, it will be preserved for the image after encoding in 3DMasterKit.

      • Animation viewing mode (serial frame demonstration on the screen), the playback speed is controlled in the Project–>Settings menu item;

      • Guidelines: you can adjust the color in the ProjectàSettings menu item;
      • The numbers of the left and right frames is shown in the status bar, the overall frame number is shown on the list of source images.

Fixed:

      • Ctrl+left/right arrow key combination works even when the list of source frames is active.

3DMasterKit 2.7 – March 2007

What’s new:

      • Parameters are saved when the user quits the program and restored with the next program run;
      • The encoded image can be rotated in the program (Lenticular tab). The corresponding button is added to the tool bar;
      • If the alignment marks are checked, the alignment 1-pixel frame is formed round the image – it allows to position the lenticular screen even more precisely when applying it to the image;
      • The frame round the pitch test allows to define the lens pitch more precisely and easily;
      • Hot Keys for precise rotation/scaling are added;
      • Manual parallax setting dialog is changed – color parallax indication, the table can be filled in without switching to the entry fields. Real parallaxes are shown in the table in the auto mode;
      • Layers panel is extended up to 5 images;
