DepthGate 3.3 release
After a long pause we have resumed working on the DepthGate program for converting video to autostereoscopic (AS) 3D formats and now present the newly released 3.3 version.
What’s new:
- Support for input video in 2D+Depth format;
- Export formats: 32 and 45 views for Looking Glass 3D display;
- Advanced Multiview 3D rendering settings;
- The program comes in three editions:
“4K” – with the ability to export videos up to 4K x 4K resolution (already available for purchase);
“8K” – with the ability to export videos up to 8K x 8K resolution;
“Pro” – with the ability to export videos up to 12K x 12K resolution.
- Demo mode is not time- and frame-limited;
- Support for Chinese language user interface;
- 64-bit version.
Fixed:
- Loss of some frames in the original video;
- Interface errors.
3DMasterKit 10.5 and Legend 10.5 update
3DMasterKit and Legend update version 10.5.
What’s new:
Updated .MTP project format. Now project layers are saved in a .PSDD file. This increases the reliability of project storage, and makes it possible to copy and use the layers file separately from the project.
Fixed bugs:
- Error while saving the project in .MTP: resaving does not save modified layers and frames;
- In the Pitch Test dialog, the values in inches change to mm when changing the Mode;
- The Set Visible On All Layers button switches generation to Auto N in the Multiview generation dialog;
- Lenticular tab: the specified picture size is reset to the Crop rect size after each encoding (interlacing);
- Layers from .PSD files were added to position 100. Now they are added to the mid-position (0);
- Error: if the Background parallax value is 0, then the Foreground parallax is applied incorrectly to the layer depth map;
- Problem with the “transparency” of the layer after editing in an external editor;
- The problem with saving layers in the .MTP project;
- Error in saving the values of the depth map factor in the .MTP project;
- Error in generating the positioning frame (in Legend).
If you are interested in lenticulars, you might enjoy Michael Brown’s YouTube Channel.
He has videos showing various steps of printing inkjet lenticulars, recordings of his studio live stream demonstrations, training materials, and visual samples of his fine art lenticulars.
In addition, Michael has uploaded a series of video conversations with others working in this fascinating field.
YouTube’s closed captioning can translate the English audio into on-screen translated text in numerous languages.
3DMasterKit 10.3 and Legend 10.3 Update
Meet v. 10.3 of Triaxes 3DMasterKit and Triaxes Legend.
What’s new:
- Improved text readability in some controls when using the gray interface scheme.
Changes
- New layers are now added at a depth of “0” (z-axis position).
- Incorrect picture size on the Lenticular tab when starting new projects;
- Incorrect saving / opening large PSDDs (more than 2 GB);
- The loss and change of layers’ names when recording/reading PSDDs;
- Parallax values of the foreground and background were swapped when applied to the layer’s depth map;
- When resizing, the Navigator panel controls were not redrawn.

3DMasterKit 10 and Legend 10 Release
Finally, version 10 of 3DMasterKit and Legend has been released. New installation packages are already available for download.
The release of v.10 was announced as early as September’2019 but we postponed it for half a year. The number of changes exceeded our original prognoses.
On the plus side, we made a number of enhancements and added new functionality that will be handy when working with difficult projects.
What’s new:
- New tool – Parallax measurer or Parallaxometer – allows you to accurately measure the parallax and predict the 3D effect of the printed 3D image;
- Extended number of processed frames for all software editions. For 3DMasterKit 10 Pro: max N=512, max LPI=600, max Resolution = 9600 PPI.
- New ability to edit the layer’s image, as well as the depth maps in an external editor;
- New different color schemes of the user interface. The new dark theme of the interface allows you to focus on the image and reduce fatigue;
- Toolbar icons can be enlarged. Now the software is compatible with high-definition displays.
- Pitch Test dialog can be opened without adding images to the project.
- New image export format for the Looking Glass holographic displays;
- New example and video tutorial on 2D-to-3D image conversion.
- Drag’n’drop or double click to open .psdd files.
Enhancements:
- Encoding has sped up by 25%;
- Better encoding/saving of large-format images (more than 4 Gb);
- Improved computational model used to apply depth maps to layers. 3D rendering results have become more predictable. That simplifies 2D-to-3D conversion.
Fixed:
- A big list of bugs (more than 30) and drawbacks;
- Reading of jpg files taken with new cameras;
- Software crashes when opening the Pitch Test dialog.
What about prices:
We promised to keep the discount until the release of v. 10 and initially intended to cancel the discount after the release.
However, the situation in the world has changed during this time. So we decided to keep a 25% discount for two weeks.

We announce the upcoming release of 3DMasterKit 10
In version 10 we are planning to introduce a number of new functions that will significantly help you deal with complex projects. Here are the details of some of them:
- A new tool – Parallax meter or Parallaxometer – allows you to measure the parallax (3D effect) of the printed 3D image most accurately;
- Improved encoding/saving of large images (more than 4 Gb);
- Editing of the layer image and its depth map in a third-party editor;
- Adaptive software interface. Now the software is compatible with high resolution displays;
- New option: now you can choose different color schemes for your software interface. The dark theme will allow you to focus on the image and reduce fatigue;
- New image export format for the Looking Glass holographic displays;
- A large number of bugs and flaws have been fixed.
The release of the 10th version is planned for September 2019.

We keep the summer prices until the release of the 10th software version
This is a good opportunity to purchase the software at low cost, start working and then get the free update to the 10th version as all the updates are free within 1 year after the purchase.
